In addition to traditional products coated with pepper, onion or paprika, for example, functional casings can also be found on the market which, in addition to the familiar properties and layers, have a continuous layer on the inside to which spices adhere. In the case of "spice casings", the direct contact with the sausage meat allows the aromas and smoking colours to penetrate the product better. Due to the coating, these new internally coated casings place different demands on the processing. The plait volume is larger and the casings, e.g. with ground pepper, require a gentler closure to prevent the peppercorns from pressing through the casing. The new clip series S 9000 developed by Poly-clip System has a specially adapted clip profile for the gentle closure of these special casings with large plait volumes.
Reliable and economical
The ICA XL is the ideal clipping machine for stick sausages and shaped products in the calibre range from 130 to 250 mm. Fibre, collagen, textile and plastic casings can be processed efficiently at up to 60 cycles per minute in throughput. All types of sausages such as raw and cooked sausage as well as pressed and moulded ham, even with whole pieces of muscle, are sealed. For products that are cooked in square form using the cook-in principle, the ICA XL can be optionally equipped with an overspreader. In conjunction with a vacuum system, air-free loose filling of shaped products is possible with an over-spread of up to 300 mm. This and many other product parameters, such as the servo-supported clip pressure adjustment for sensitive fibrous and spiced casings, can be stored in the program memory of the SAFETY TOUCH and can be called up at any time in the recipe management. The touch screen allows easy machine operation - with a 10" display, unbreakable and easy to clean. Individually assignable control panels for manual functions can be easily set at the operating level, according to the production processes. PC control and the servo motor ensure a powerful and wear-free drive. As an option, the WS-Food Standard production data acquisition system can be retrofitted at any time.

Embossing on the plates should make it easier for the products to slide. The telescopic conveyor belt is up to 1.3 m long, roller conveyor extensions are available for sausages up to 1.6 m long. Embossing under the conveyor belt stabilises the belt and also makes it more hygienic. The conveyor belt speed can optionally be adjusted automatically.

User- and service-friendly
Two steering wheels make the ICA XL easy to manoeuvre, and the parking brakes are already integrated. Additional cost savings are achieved through the low air consumption of the automatic belt loop dispenser GSA. And the positioning of the GSA makes loop changing even easier - which saves time.
The automatic clipping machine is equipped with a protective flap with stainless steel grille and sliding door. The sliding door offers comfort and time savings during casing change. The product-specific adjustment options have also been improved once again. This simplifies operation and makes product changes even faster. This is increased efficiency through individual adjustment. The service-friendly doors, an electric handwheel and the second feed option for the clipsticks in a low position are precisely the small but powerful features that make the ICA XL extremely user-friendly.
The machine is optionally available with clip bars for stick-clip but also as a reel version. Clip on reel allows continuous production of 1,300 portions without reloading clip. The clip spool holders are in the optimum position. This makes it even easier for the clips to slide in the clip guide, thus ensuring trouble-free production.
The iris displacer ensures sausage ends are free of meat and gentle portioning - even with large pieces of meat. Short, symmetrical sausage shoulders produce more slices per sausage, i.e. a higher yield.
Value retention of the investment
The high degree of automation of the ICA XL is also evident in the consumption-oriented central lubrication system. Since it is automatic, this important step is never forgotten and saves time. This ensures maximum process reliability and investment benefits, because wear is reduced, service and downtimes are minimised and the service life of the machine is "automatically" extended.
